As Evaluation Champions, we are here to help the Ministry of Education think and act using Evaluative Thinking. So we have to find the right people to make that happen. If you care about continuous learning through inquiry and reflective practice, come join us on this journey.

Types of Evaluation Champions

There are two ways you can help - as a promoter and enthusiast or a driver and doer.

Promoter and Enthusiast

Great if you support the kaupapa & want to help from afar but are poor on time.

Driver and Doer

Great if you want to work directly with teams to encourage Evaluative Thinking.

What will you be doing?

As an Evaluation Champion, you will do one or more of the following:

  • Clarify your evaluation needs
  • Define clear outcomes and measures for projects, programmes, initiatives or policies.
  • Ask the right questions your evaluation will answer
  • Assist in commissioning evaluation
  • Use tools and resources that are relevant to you
  • Become an advocate for evaluative thinking

Evaluation Champion Training Programme

We offer our champions training which will:

  • Enable champions to feel comfortable navigating the information in this website
  • Support teams with Theory of Change, commissioning, finding the right resources, how to access the experts.
  • Facilitate workshops relating to evaluative thinking.

As an Evaluation Champion, I was able to learn about evaluative thinking and share this with others to create a fun collaborative work environment
